Name: Jessie

Age: 3 years

Sex: Female

Color: Black DSH

About: Jessie is a beautiful young kitty who recently lost her home due to the sudden death of her person. She is heartbroken and scared from the change, but we know this sweet girl can learn to love and trust again. Jessie needs a special person willing to give her unconditional love and a little time to adjust to a new life. A quieter home would be ideal. She’s been hiding a lot since coming to Animal Rescue Merrimack Valley, but when she comes out she does enjoy being pet. Jessie is being fostered in a home by one of our wonderful volunteers. If you would like to meet Jessie, just let us know in the comments! We promised her her next forever home will truly be forever,

Something cool about Jessie that you can’t see in this photo- she has a bob-tail! That means her tail is about a third of the length of a normal cat tail. It’s super cute. Bob-tail kitties are pretty uncommon, and they are known for their amazing intelligence and loving nature.

Jessie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, microchipped. The adoption fee for Jessie is $125.

Fosters Desperately Needed!

Fosters Desperately Needed!

We’ve been bringing a lot of cats and kittens in from the cold already this winter, and our foster homes are constantly full. In order to continue our work saving these sweet animals, we need more cat lovers to sign up as fosters.

Did you know all you need to be a foster home is a spare room (like a bathroom) to keep the kitty in? ARMV provides all medical care for our foster cats, you are only responsible for food, litter, and LOVE!

If you or someone you know would be willing to provide a loving home for a homeless cat or kittens while they wait to be adopted, please contact us! Message us on Facebook with any questions, or fill out this FOSTER APPLICATION form and email it to

National Adoption Weekend at Petco

National Adoption Event WeekendThinking of adopting a cat or kittens? Take home your forever friend on Sunday, September 11 from Petco in Salem, NH or Plaistow, NH and your kitty will be paying their good fortune forward to another feline in need! As a Petco adoption partner, Animal Rescue Merrimack Valley is eligible to receive a $35 grant for every adoption that takes place during this National Adoption Event Weekend, generously sponsored by the Petco Foundation. Thats enough to give several stray and street-born kitties a fighting chance at a happy, healthy life. It also helps us in our mission to keep our feral cat population down through ongoing Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) efforts, which not only helps the cats, but also the people and pets in the communities where they reside.

Stop by one of our weekly adoption events for more information, and to meet some of the wonderful adoptable cats and kittens we currently have available! We hope to see you on Sunday, September 11!
