Amanda is less than a year old and has already had a litter of kittens and will probably never grow beyond the few pounds she is now. Amanda ended up with ARMV when her owner became homeless and had to surrender all her acquired kitties. Where ARMV is going to shelter her personal cats while she looks for a new cat friendly lodgings, little Amanda has the chance for a brand new forever home.

Heathcliff and 6 other cats have come to us from a home where they had brought in more cats than they could care for comfortably. He has been prone to hematomas in his past life, and his ears have healed in a curved manner that makes him look like a Scottish Fold. Presently he and some of the other surrendered pets are on display at the Petco in Plaistow. NH

This is Wolfgang, he is not available for adoption. A very large neutered male, he has lived outside for many many years and is no longer a sociable cuddly pet. He adores living inside, playing with toys and gets along very well with other animals.

Wolfie is an example of a growing number of Animal Rescue Merrimack Valley’s charges. Cats that have been rescued from living on the streets and for some reason or another can’t be adopted nor returned to their outdoor situation. At this time ARMV has over one hundred of these animals in care; animals that need continued medication, rescues not social enough to place in a home, feral cats that can’t be returned to their locations; animals that are perfectly happy and healthy but not the sort that can be adopted. Animal Rescue Merrimack Valley continues to cover the expenses of caring for the cats and providing them homes in our foster homes and soon in our rescue Sanctuary.

ARMV will never be reimbursed for the care of these animals, through adoption fees. Please donate to Wolfgang’s care and the support of our sanctuary at ARMV.ORG

These shelters are designed to give cats living outdoors a warm place to escape the weather and predators. These are placed in inconspicuous locations throughout the area where there are managed colonies of cats living rough. Having safe shelters available to them keeps feral cats from seeking shelter inside garages and abandoned or occupied buildings.
