Miss Kitty on her own

Miss Kitty’s owner recently passed away and she was left alone in the house. ARMV collected her today. Kitty is a ridiculously sweet and shy calico if a little on the heavy side. Not to worry, with a little dieting and a lot of affection we are sure we can find her a new home to call her own.

Morton here’s who

Morton is another in a long line of nice housecats turned outside to fend for themselves. He has been outside for at least a couple of years and is now a bit banged up with some scar tissue around his jowls and a permanent droop to one of his ears. If he were less accommodating he would have been returned to the outdoors – But though looking all rough and tumble, Morton’s only passion is a plate of food and a good neck scratch. He is a great lapcat for someone with a substantial lap. If you are interested in meeting Morton please send us an email.

Okie finds love

Okie was adopted by a little girl who was supposed to be picking out a kitten. (Okie is a 12lb giant sized cat) Once she saw him, she would not leave without him. They have had him for a few days now and they love him and he loves their 2yr old daughter. He sleeps in her bed at bed time and nap time. They say Okie and her daughter are the best of friends. He did hide the first night but is doing great now. I guess little kids can pick out great cats! I bet it won’t be long before he she is dressing him in doll clothes and pushing him a stroller.

Jo Jo recovered looking for a lap

A volunteer saw JoJo’s mom deposit him in a snowbank when he was very tiny. JoJo was rushed to Essex Emergency hospital where he spent the next week of his life. After nany many vet bills JoJo is now sweet 11 week old kitten looking for a forever home. If you are interested in adopting him or contributing to his medical bills, email us at adoptions@armv.org

Jeffrey is a big guy

Jeffrey is a new rescue, he is a very sweet but HUGE noble guy. About 5 years old he was visiting a few different houses in a neighborhood getting fed by many folks. Each had a different name for him and all of them were happy to get him out of the cold and into a good situation. He will make a great companion for anyone.

Bonnie purrs up a storm

This is Bonnie, a sweet little 8month old female with two extra thumbs on each paw! Bonnie was recently rescued living out of doors, and will practically purr on command when you pick her up. She has got a great personality and gets along with everybody. She would make a great companion for anyone who needs a little warmth in their life.

Bonnie has been adopted! to a very good home!

Stucky and Company

These are three of kittens rescued this morning, there is still a fourth out there we have not caught yet. The orange kitten in the litter box was named Stucky because he didn’t want to leave the trap and was ‘stuck’ but he is much happier now all cleaned up and well fed with his siblings. ARMV will continue to trap and get the fourth kitten. But when they approach this age it is harder and harder to socialize them quickly. In another two weeks it will be too late and that kitten will have to be returned to the wild with its mother.

Five minus three leaves two

ARMV picked up this little lady today. 3 of her kittens were killed in Lawrence by someone’s dog. but the 2 that are left are fat and happy little 3 week olds.

Tanya’s troubles

This is Tanya…a nice looking long haired black female with a mild temperament who was dumped in the TD BankNorth parking lot last summer. ARMV started trapping for her last November, by that time one kitten had already been killed in traffic. ARMV managed to catch three of her kittens in November. One has since been adopted, one has died of an illness and one Sweet Pea is still waiting for her forever home. Tanya still remained elusive and only recently has been trapped with the last of her two autumn born kittens. These kittens have contracted Feline Leukemia from being exposed to the virus from other cats and can not be adopted. Tonya may now have a new litter of kittens out there under a shed or in a some other hidey hole and ARMV will try to find them. If we can’t we will have to put Tanya back outside to nurse them and hope we can catch them all again when her new kittens are old enough to start running around the TD Bank North Parking lot. Hopefully they won’t meet the same fate as most of their siblings. This is an example of the tragic expensive cycle that happens when someone abandons a cat outside. ARMV shoulders the entire medical cost of examining and treating Tanya and all of her kittens regardless that only one of her kittens will bring in an adoption donation.
