This is ‘Nona” short for Strega Nona…she is staying with us until she unloads her tummy full of kittens. She was rescued in Lawrence along with 3 kittens that are probably her grand children, though Nona is less than a couple of years old herself. Nona is the sweetest cat possible, she adores humans and being petted…especially having her belly rubbed. If only someone had taken better care of her she, her children and her grandchildren need never have been born on the street. Very soon she will have her new babies..perhaps tonight! Pictures will be forthcoming.

Buddy was thrown out of a window in Lawrence. Basically uninjured he was rescued by some neighbors and turned over to ARMV. He’s been given medical care and some love and affection.

He’s an active and bouncy little boy who likes to play with anything he can find.

As luck would have it, Stanley finally went to his forever home today from our adoption event at Petco in Plaistow NH. He will be certainly missed by ARMV.

This is Wolfgang, he is not available for adoption. A very large neutered male, he has lived outside for many many years and is no longer a sociable cuddly pet. He adores living inside, playing with toys and gets along very well with other animals.

Wolfie is an example of a growing number of Animal Rescue Merrimack Valley’s charges. Cats that have been rescued from living on the streets and for some reason or another can’t be adopted nor returned to their outdoor situation. At this time ARMV has over one hundred of these animals in care; animals that need continued medication, rescues not social enough to place in a home, feral cats that can’t be returned to their locations; animals that are perfectly happy and healthy but not the sort that can be adopted. Animal Rescue Merrimack Valley continues to cover the expenses of caring for the cats and providing them homes in our foster homes and soon in our rescue Sanctuary.

ARMV will never be reimbursed for the care of these animals, through adoption fees. Please donate to Wolfgang’s care and the support of our sanctuary at ARMV.ORG

He was malnourished with his ribs sticking out and thickly covered with ticks. He may have been tossed out or let out of a car on the highway. Starving for any length of time can cause food obsession and Dodger has been making up for all those lost dinners. He is a very sweet all white male cat with one green eye and one white one. Unfortunately he is FIV positive which means he can live a long normal life without fear of infecting any other cats. This loving large cat is looking for a forever home…with a can opener.

Sugar Plum showed up on a Haverhill porch earlier this year and a resident started to feed her. Sugar Plum never left and ARMV was asked to come and get her after a few weeks. She is all white with one green eye and one blue. Sugar Plum has a feisty side to her of which is unpredictable and along with that she is affectionate and playful and people oriented.
